US bases in Iraq targeted, local armed group claims responsibility

Iraqi armed group Saraya Awliya al-Dam claims responsibility for a series of strikes on US military facilities in the region.

In a statement released on its Telegram channel, the group says it has carried out six attacks targeting US bases within the past 24 hours.

The group further claimed that its fighters are currently “striking the American occupation strongholds in Erbil,” though it offered no additional details to support the statement.

Bahrain interior ministry diverts traffic due to falling debris

Bahrain’s Ministry of Interior has announced a traffic diversion for road users heading toward Hamad Town via the Khalifa bin Salman Highway near Saar due to an incident involving falling debris.

Joint US–Israel Offensive on Iran

Early on Saturday, Israeli forces, backed by the United States, launched a series of pre-emptive combat operations against Iranian military infrastructure in Tehran and other urban centres, marking one of the most significant escalations in recent Middle Eastern history. The operation — widely referred to as Operation Lion’s Roar — targeted sites linked to Iran’s missile and nuclear programs, as well as strategic command facilities

Iran Strikes Back — Gulf Retaliation

In retaliation, Iran launched ballistic missiles and drone strikes at multiple U.S. military bases and allied facilities throughout the Gulf, including:

  • Al Udeid Air Base, Qatar
  • Al Dhafra Air Base, UAE
  • Al Salem Air Base, Kuwait
  • US Fifth Fleet headquarters, Bahrain

GCC Airspace Closures

The UAE, Qatar, Bahrain, and Kuwait temporarily restricted or closed portions of their airspace.

Major airports including Dubai International and Abu Dhabi Airport experienced flight suspensions and delays.
