Spain, October 15, 2025 — The debate over the Israel-Hamas war has reached a pivotal moment as Spain’s prime minister stresses that peace must not come with impunity for Gaza “genocide”. The recent Trump-brokered peace deal brought hope for an end to violence, but concerns remain about justice for alleged atrocities in Gaza.

Trump’s Peace Deal and Its Reception

With the help of President Trump, the peace deal between Israel and Hamas put an end to the fighting that had lasted a long time and had taken many lives. The agreement included a total cessation of hostilities, an exchange of prisoners, and a withdrawal of Israeli soldiers to areas that had been fortified. Consequently, the pact was greeted with approval by numerous heads of state and nations, who viewed it as a potential starting point for the return of peace in the region.

The government of Spain, one of the loudest critics of the war, is still pushing for justice. The Spanish authorities branded the massacre in impunity for Gaza “genocide” and are still demanding responsibility. PM Pedro Sanchez is of the view that there should not be any “genocide” during the peaceful coexistence of the nations in the region.

Accountability Remains Key for Spain

Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez stated that peace cannot mean forgetting the crimes committed. He warned that the Trump peace deal must not enable impunity for Gaza “genocide”. Sanchez believes that the punishers of the genocide in Gaza must be tried and their actions explained.

He stated his position in a radio interview, referring to his involvement with the UN at the time of the Kosovo conflict. The prime minister has stressed on the necessity of similar international legal accountability for the present scenario as in the past war crimes cases.

The government of Spain continues to back an arms embargo on Israel, reinforcing its stand against impunity for Gaza “genocide”. Madrid’s arms embargo will stay in place until there is a lasting ceasefire and real progress toward a two-state solution in accordance with international law.

Peace Efforts and International Law

The Trump peace deal is a glimmer of hope, but it does not remove the demand for justice. The scale of suffering in Gaza has been labeled genocide by international human rights organizations as well as the United Nations. For Spain, a truly peaceful and enduring situation entails complete surrender of all parties involved, not merely the absence of warlike activities.

The prime minister called on Europe and Spain specifically to take an active role in post-war reconstruction and fact-finding. Both countries intend to support the process that ensures there is no impunity for Gaza “genocide”.

Spain also supports ongoing international efforts, including the case brought at the International Criminal Court, seeking justice for the victims of Gaza. The Spanish parliament formalized its stance with laws to block arms exports to Israel, another step toward ensuring there is never impunity for Gaza “genocide”.

Looking Forward

Despite the current ceasefire, many questions remain about the future of Gaza and the region. Spain’s leadership warns that any peace, including Trump’s peace deal, cannot protect those accused of war crimes. Achieving peace requires more than signing agreements; it needs an unyielding commitment against impunity for Gaza “genocide”.

The world now watches closely as reconstruction and political negotiations begin. Spain continues to insist that justice for victims must be central to any peace plan and that there can be no impunity for Gaza “genocide”- no matter how the deal unfolds.
